Press Release - Date 23rd June 2007
The model is limited to an issue of only 240 pieces and is Item No. AS1-001. It is in BLUE TRIANGLE livery as applied to the bus when it was still in service on franchised bus routes. The model is a Replica of the AEC Short Swift single door, single deck bus- AML 1 H, which was a former London Transport central area bus and the first in the Single door SM class type series. It was delivered to London Transport from Marshall’s body builders on the 13th of November 1969 and entered service from its allocated Garage at CATFORD on 24th January 1970. It was the first SM class bus to enter service and initially was on route 160 to ELTHAM. It was hoped that the actual vehicle would be seen at this years 2007 North Weald rally but unfortunately this will not be so…...but….. the model will be there! Press Release - Date 10th June 2007
ME –04 – This model is a further issue in the two door type of the Britbus ME series MERLINS. The bus is one of the N B C London Country models in NBC green and white livery and is fleet number MB 84. The registration number will be SMM 84 F and it is on route 306 to LEAVESDEN ( Shuttle Bus). The model is a limited edition model and will be certificated to a production run of 816 models. Press Release - Date 6th June 2007 Britbus……..will be releasing several new models in the months of June and JULY 2007. N 6404 – This model (it has been renumbered from previous published item number) is due for release this week. It is a long awaited model of the MCW bodied, single-door, double deck bus as operating for the NEWPORT CORPORATION. The bus fleet number is 118 with a registration number GKG 39 N. It is on route 2A to NEWPORT. The model is Certificated and is a Limited Edition of 600 pieces only.
DL-06X – This model will be released concurrently with DL-06 and is a model of the present day preserved version of the actual vehicle. The model represents fleet number 872, registration number RDB 872 and represents the vehicle in the livery in which it is currently preserved and housed in Herefordshire near the England/Wales border. The model is on route 36 to MANCHESTER L.M.S.. This is a Limited Edition model of 120 pieces only and is Certificated.
AN2-03 – A forerunner sightseeing bus and one of two assigned and re-liveried by LONDON COUNTRY BUS SERVICES vehicles. It is branded LONDON CRUSADER and is a model of the NBC standard Park Royal bodied AN68 Leyland Atlantean - fleet number AN11-Registration number JPL 111K. This model is not open topped as was the other vehicle that was so assigned by the company for Sightseeing services in the Capital. The destination is simply LONDON SIGHTSEEING TOUR. This model is Certificated and is a Limited Edition of 1008 pieces ME1-01 – This model is the first issue of the Single door version of the Britbus ME series MERLINS. The bus is one of the London Transport models in Central Area Red livery and is fleet number MB 663. The registration number will be AML 663H and it is on route 258 bound for HARROW (MET Station). The model is a Limited Edition model and will be Certificated to a production run of 816 models.
Press Release - Date 24th November 2006 New models released by Britbus this week are firstly the AS1-04 – AEC short Swift, Single door, HANTS and SUSSEX BUS CO. The model features the bus in the later version of the Hants & Sussex livery and features Reg. No. EGN 683 J which was in fact purchased by the H&S bus Co. from preservationist bus enthusiasts. It was in fact built as a two door bus for London Transport and was one of a number of similar buses run by Hants & Sussex. The model is on route to OLD BOSHAM via Fishbourne on route 66. Secondly it’s the attractive YORKSHIRE RIDER Alexander bodied RH type Scania 113. This bus was part of a number of similar buses in the YR fleet and was in fact the first in the series that is numbered 8001. It carries the reg. No G 801 JYG and is on route 55 to Cottingley via City Square. The third model released this week is the Alexander bodied Dennis Loline III – a bus that has already been modelled by Britbus in the full traditional as well as the final liveries of the Aldershot & District Traction Company – this time however the bus is a ray of bright sunshine in its ALDER VALLEY bright yellow livery as one of the Driver Trainer buses in that NBC consolidated fleet. The model is of Reg. No. 462 EOT which is currently being lovingly restored to her former glory by ADBIG. Hopefully she may be on the road soon once again gladdening the hearts of enthusiasts. This bus is the only survivor of this bus with the Alexander body as far as can be determined- certainly in the UK! Lastly – But……. perhaps not least……..
….. is the news of a forthcoming model of
a new BritbuS 1/76thscale casting…… The single door version of this vehicle will also be released at the same time…. before Christmas it is hoped for both models. The Item No. is AN1-01 and is a model of one of a small batch of this type of bus operated by SOUTHDOWN MOTOR SERVICES. It is Fleet number 743 and Reg. No. LCD 43 P and is modelled as operating on the Express service to SOUTHSEA South Parade. The bus is finished in NBC leaf green and features the later style of NBC fleet logo. Both these Items will be made to a limited edition of 1008 pieces. Press Release - Date 1st September 2006
